An hour drive from Des Moines, 12 miles from Panora and just 7 miles from Guthrie Center, you will be sure to enjoy Springbrook State Park. There is a 12 mile hiking trail that winds around the lake and will lead you to the heart of Springbrook. Bike enthusists must check out the Central Iowa State Bike Trail. This 160 mile loop connects Big Creek, Ledges and Springbrook State Parks. The route ambles through 14 charming towns. It is relatively flat, with few challenging hills and takes you through the picturesque Des Moines and Raccoon River valleys.
